Visit Dallas Heritage Village with your troop and experience history. We believe in living history, and as a part of that mission, we offer a variety of hands-on programs for Girl Scouts of all ages. Daisy Girl Scouts

Daisy Girl Scouts

All workshops are $15 per scout, 1 free adult for every 5 scouts; additional adults are $7 each. A $90 deposit must be paid at the time of booking in order to reserve your spot. Service units and troops can be combined to meet the minimum. Workshops last between 1 ½ to 2 hours.


Mind Your Manners: Respect Myself and Others, Scouts will earn the Petal-Gloria

Enjoy a Victorian tea party in one of our historic homes and learn about proper etiquette and manners.


Penny for Your Thoughts: Money Counts, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy Leaf

Spend some time downtown on our historic main street learning about the cost of fun, 1900s style.


Penny-Pinching Pride: Making Choices, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy Leaf

Let’s go shopping at the General Store and visit our turn-of-the-century Bank as we learn about money.

One Lump or Two: Making Friends, Scouts will earn the Skill Building Badge-Manners

Enjoy a Victorian tea party in one of our historic homes while learning etiquette and manners to foster lasting friendships.


Nickel & Dimed: Money Manager, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy I Badge

Let’s go shopping at the turn-of-the-century Bank and to the General Store to shop for the latest products of the 1900s.

Elegantly Entertaining: Social Butterfly, Scouts will earn the Skill Building Badge-Manners

Experience a Victorian Tea in one of our historic homes where conversation is priority and appropriate manners are a must.


Two Cents’ Worth: Savvy Shopper, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy II Badge

You need this but you want that: however do you decide? Tour the village as you try and find out what makes people happy (or not!) with what they buy. Travel back in time as we explore and compare the needs and wants of girls in the 19th century and girls today.


Living History: Playing in the Past, Scouts will earn the It’s Your Story Skill Building Badge – Creative Play

Step back into history and experience life as a pioneer girl or a young Victorian.

Time Traveler Tours


GUIDED TOURS 

$8 per Girl Scout, 1 free adult for every 5 scouts; additional adults are $7 each. Explore history with a guided tour during these special Time Traveler tours just for Scouts! A $48 deposit must be paid at the time of booking in order to reserve your spot. 

Tours can be adapted to any age level. A Dallas Heritage Village Time Traveler Patch may be purchased for $3 each.

Choose from one of the following themes:
Living on the New Frontier

If you were a pioneer girl in the 1800s, what would your life have been like? Take a guided tour of the Miller Log House, Millermore and the Farmstead.


Corsets, Calling Cards, & Hat Pins

If you had lived at the turn of the century, what would your life have been like? Take a guided tour of Blum House and Sullivan House and Renner School.


 

SELF-GUIDED TOUR

$7 per Girl Scout, 1 free adult every 5 scouts, add’l adults are $7 each

Explore the historic village on your own. All Girl Scouts will receive a Time Traveler Scavenger Hunt and the Time Traveler Patch.

 

Do you plan on visiting lots of museums as a troop? Consider the “History Museum Explorers Patch,” a progressive patch featuring history museums in Dallas. For more details, click here.

Join us Saturday, March 11th fora special day just for Girl Scouts!

Daisys will earn their Gloria Petal; Brownies, their Making Friends badge; and Juniors can earn either their Playing the Past badges.

Daisy & Brownies: 10:00am – 1:00pm.

Juniors: 12:00pm - 3:00pm.

*To complete the badge activities, please plan for 1.5 hours.

*Scouts must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration Details

Workshops and tours are only conducted during regular museum hours and must be booked at least three weeks in advance. Please remember, we are an outdoor museum! Workshops are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

 

The Fine Print:

Workshop size is limited to a minimum of 6 Scouts and a maximum of 20 Scouts. Troops can be combined to meet the minimum. Tour size is limited to 25 Scouts. Touring time of the entire museum may not be a part of your chosen workshop. After the workshop is completed, you are more than welcome to tour the rest of the museum.
