Weather at Dallas Heritage Village

A Historical Setting for your Historical Moments

It is very easy to be swept up in the history of Dallas and our historic buildings when thinking about Dallas Heritage Village. Many times you find yourself learning about the past, the stories of those who have come before us. Yet, there is a way for your history to be a part of our history. Graduations, reunions, weddings, and anniversaries are often historic and momentous events themselves and hosting such an event on our iconic grounds adds an element of the past to your festivities. In turn, your events add to the developing story and history of the Village.

This past Spring and Summer were filled with families starting new chapters of their lives together while leaving their mark on us. There is a rich and intertwining history of rentals at our museum and we would love for you to be a part of it!

In fact, in the Fall of 2012, the granddaughter of a former pastor of Pilot Grove Church, got married here. As well, descendants of some of the original residents of the Miller cabin have attended Candlelight in the not too distant past.

The Bandstand is also a popular location for weddings and we have been receiving requests from second generation couples, wishing to get married on the Bandstand just as their parents did. This is a wonderful way to continue their familial connection to the Village and we love giving them the opportunity to recreate the event. Browder Springs, right on our Main Street, is also a popular location for family to celebrate milestone anniversaries or family reunions. For some of them, our grounds and museum resembles the town where their grandparents or great-grandparents grew up. This is why our location is where they wish to gather and reminisce.

The smaller elements of weddings as well include parts of the Village, which are unknown to the larger public. The Groom’s Dressing Area is located in the back of the Millermore mansion, which was originally the “modern” kitchen for the house. The Bridal Suite is inside a 1910 Sears package home, a home that newlyweds from that era that would save money for in order to assemble together. Just as newlyweds today, now assemble Ikea furniture together.

If you are recently engaged, preparing to celebrate a big anniversary or graduation, or just looking to gather the family from their far flung homes, consider Dallas Heritage Village as the backdrop and location for your special events. Pictures at any of our buildings can range from classic and stately to rustic and charming and the atmosphere comes alive at night with the Dallas Skyline lit up right behind Main Street. A backdrop of new amongst the old. We are a unique venue option that will provide your guests with stories to be shared for a lifetime. We’re not just a historic site, but the perfect site for your historic moments as well.
